Vanna White, the beloved host of Wheel of Fortune, surprised fans by announcing that she and her longtime partner, John Donaldson, are officially married. The couple, who have been together for over a decade, celebrated their love with a private ceremony, sharing the news on Instagram on January 21.
In her post, White, 68, is pictured in a white dress as Donaldson carries her in his arms. She wrote:
“Surprise! We got married! John and I have been in love for more than a decade and a little while back, we wanted to make it official in a private ceremony.” She added, “We’re excited to share this new joyful chapter in our lives with all of you. Love, Vanna and John.”
The post also included throwback photos capturing moments from their relationship, including snapshots of the couple holding hands by a pool and posing in front of a heart sign.
The couple’s joy was echoed by friends and family online. White’s son, Nikko Santo Pietro, congratulated the pair on Instagram, while Maggie Sajak, daughter of Pat Sajak, and Wheel of Fortune’s official Instagram account also shared celebratory messages. Television host Ryan Seacrest joined in sending his congratulations on social media.
This marks White’s second marriage; she was previously married to George Santo Pietro from 1990 to 2002, with whom she shares two children, Nikko and Gigi Santo Pietro. Donaldson, a construction company owner, has been close to White’s family for years and has regularly appeared in her social media posts and holiday cards.
White first met Donaldson in 2012 at a barbecue hosted by a mutual friend. She recalled to People: “I remember looking at him and thinking, ‘He’s really cute.’ We ended up talking for a long time that night.” Before tying the knot, she expressed that she never felt pressured to remarry, noting in December 2025 that their relationship already felt like a marriage in all but paperwork.
With this private ceremony, White and Donaldson have officially entered a new chapter together, celebrating over a decade of love, laughter, and shared memories.
