The San Antonio Spurs erased a 16-point deficit to beat the Golden State Warriors 126-113 at Chase Center on Wednesday, extending their winning streak to six games and heading into the All-Star break with momentum.
Golden State controlled the first half, moving the ball efficiently and hitting perimeter shots to build a double-digit lead. But midway through the third quarter, the Spurs flipped the switch. Their defense intensified, cutting off driving lanes and forcing tough shots, while their offense simplified, attacking the paint and executing sharper cuts.
Dejounte Fox led the comeback with 27 points and eight assists, orchestrating a crucial stretch late in the third quarter. Victor Wembanyama dominated early in the fourth, finishing with 26 points and nine rebounds, including a game-changing alley-oop dunk and a key three-pointer that swung momentum fully in San Antonio’s favor.
Keldon Johnson added 21 points off the bench, keeping the team’s energy high while the starters rested. Despite efforts from Draymond Green and Moses Moody, the Warriors couldn’t recover without Stephen Curry in uniform.
The victory highlighted the Spurs’ growth. Once prone to collapsing when behind, this young team demonstrated composure, smart shot selection, and tight defensive rotations. The chemistry between Fox and Wembanyama is emerging as one of the NBA’s most dangerous duos, and the team now looks ready to rely on results rather than just potential.
San Antonio improves to 38-16 and heads into the break confident, proving they can respond—and finish—when challenged on the road.
