Iran Leader Killed in U.S.-Israeli Strikes; Trump Calls for Regime Change

Tensions across the Middle East escalated dramatically after Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed in coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes, triggering a wave of retaliatory attacks and raising fears of a broader regional conflict.

According to Iranian officials, more than 200 people have died in Iran following the strikes, while Israeli authorities report at least 10 fatalities in Israel as both sides continue to exchange fire. Air raid sirens sounded across Tel Aviv as Iran launched missiles toward Israeli targets, with Israel’s military working to intercept incoming threats.

In response to the killing, former U.S. President Donald Trump publicly urged Iranians to “take over your government,” signaling support for regime change in Tehran. His remarks came as Israel launched additional strikes in the Iranian capital, targeting what officials described as military and strategic sites.

Iran has expanded its retaliation beyond Israel, reportedly targeting U.S. military assets in Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. The widening scope of attacks has heightened concerns that the conflict could engulf multiple countries in the region.

Meanwhile, unrest has spread beyond the Middle East. In Karachi, Pakistan, at least nine people were killed during clashes between police and protesters attempting to storm the U.S. consulate. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned neighboring Gulf nations that they could become “legitimate targets” if they allow their territory to be used for attacks against Iran.

Despite calls for regime change from Washington, Iranian officials insist that toppling the government would be far from simple. Araghchi described the idea as “mission impossible,” emphasizing the regime’s long history of maintaining control during periods of crisis.

As military exchanges continue and diplomatic tensions intensify, the region faces one of its most volatile moments in years, with global leaders closely monitoring whether the conflict will escalate further or move toward containment.
