Carrie Anne Fleming, ‘iZombie’ and ‘Supernatural’ Actress, Dies at 51

Canadian actress Carrie Anne Fleming, known for her memorable roles in hit TV series like iZombie and Supernatural, has died at the age of 51 following complications from breast cancer.

Her passing was confirmed by co-star Jim Beaver, who worked alongside her on Supernatural, where she portrayed Karen Singer—the wife of his character, Bobby Singer. Fleming’s performance brought emotional depth to the series and resonated strongly with fans.

Born on August 16, 1974, in Digby, Fleming later moved to British Columbia, where she pursued her passion for acting. She trained in drama at local institutions in Victoria, laying the foundation for a career that would span television, film, and stage.

Fleming began gaining recognition with early appearances in projects like Viper and the comedy film Happy Gilmore. Over time, she carved out a niche in the horror genre, notably working with director Dario Argento on the anthology series Masters of Horror. Her role in the episode “Jenifer” showcased her range, as she took on one of her most haunting performances.

She continued to appear in genre productions, including The Tooth Fairy and Bloodsuckers, while also branching into mainstream television. In 2015, she portrayed the mother of Candace Cameron Bure in The Unauthorized Full House Story.

In more recent years, Fleming became widely recognized for her recurring role as Candy Baker on iZombie, appearing across five seasons and becoming a familiar face to audiences.

Beyond screen acting, she was also active in theater, performing in productions such as Romeo and Juliet, Steel Magnolias, and Fame, demonstrating her versatility across different forms of performance.

Fleming is survived by her daughter, Madalyn Rose. A memorial service is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, as fans and colleagues remember a dedicated actress whose work left a lasting impression across genres.
