Victor Wembanyama continues to redefine expectations in just his second NBA season — and he’s now added a historic milestone to his growing résumé.
The San Antonio Spurs star became the first player in league history to record 200+ points, 25+ blocks and 15+ three-pointers over an eight-game winning streak. During that stretch, Wembanyama totaled 203 points, 25 blocks and 15 made threes — averaging more than 25 points, 3 blocks and nearly 2 triples per game.
The Spurs have ridden that dominance to eight straight victories, positioning themselves as a serious challenger in the Western Conference. Their most recent win — a 17-point rout of the Sacramento Kings — showcased their depth, with six players scoring in double figures.
Now, San Antonio faces one of its toughest tests yet: a road clash against the Eastern Conference-leading Detroit Pistons. Detroit enters the matchup on a five-game winning streak of its own, led by rising star Cade Cunningham.
The game also features a compelling frontcourt battle between Wembanyama and first-time All-Star Jalen Duren, while two-time All-Star De’Aaron Fox is set to square off with Cunningham in the backcourt.
With the two teams separated by just a few games in the standings, the matchup promises to spotlight the NBA’s next generation of contenders — and Wembanyama’s historic run is at the center of it.
