SpiceJet denied media reports that it had been told to appear in an income tax case by a Delhi court.

“..the Company has not received any summon or notice as reported in certain sections of the media,” it said in a letter to the BSE.

Media has reported in recent days that a court has issued summons to SpiceJet Limited, its previous non-executive promoter Kalanidhi Maran and its previous Managing Director pertaining to the non-deposit of tax deducted at source (TDS).

“The Company has been paying all its TDS dues as per the provisions of Income Tax Rules and there has not been any default on its TDS obligations,” SpiceJet said.

It, however, admitted that there were some exchange of letters between the Income Tax department and the company at the time of the Marans.

“No outcome of such communication have been communicated to the Company by the relevant authorities,” it said.
