National Panthers Party activists held a protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar,New Delhi demanding Governor Rule in Jammu and Kashmir State “to save the state from devastation.”

Valley was in unrestrained death toll has reached 65 since the July 8 killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani.

The state is currently under the rule of a coalition of People’s Democratic Party and Bharatiya Janata Party. NPP has been critical of the way the Mehbooba Mufti-led government has handled the unrest.

The NPP demonstrators called on the President of India, Shri Pranav Mukherjee to exercise his exclusive power under article 370 of the Indian Constitution which empowers him alone to command Governor of J&K under section 92 of the J&K Constitution to impose Governor Rule in J&K by dismissing the state government in the national interest and security of the state.

Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of NPP, appealed to the Parliament of India and the national leadership to support this voice for the security and safety of the entire nation which is under a serious threat today.

Bhim Singh, who was formerly with the Congress Party, formed the Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers’ Party in 1982.

The situation in J&K has become extremely painful for the BJP, which came to power at the center promising a new era of better governance. While the party has to keep its coalition in the state in power, it also has to balance the more ‘nationalistic’ demands of the rest of the country, which sees the developments in Kashmir as anti-India.
