Aam Aadmi Party all set for Karnataka launch

The Aam Aadmi Party will launch its Karnataka unit in Bangalore on 27 July, the party said.

The launch follows a series of district level meets organized by the fledgling party. Anti-corruption activist and leader Arvind Kejriwal will be in Bangalore on the day for the launch, which will take place at a school in Indira Nagar.

The party has been converting itself from a grass roots movement to an official party. Volunteers who participated in earlier programs have been invited or made members of the political party.

AAP is currently focused on the Delhi assembly elections due for later this year.

“In spite of such tiring schedule and Delhi elections being on cards, Arvind Kejriwal’s presence is confirmed as he has agreed to spend a few hours with us,” the Bangalore division of AAP, formerly India Against Corruption, said.

The volunteers held a meeting in Cubbon Park to plan the event, and are scheduled to hold another meeting on Saturday (tomorrow) at 11 am at New Horizon Public School in Indira Nagar to thrash out the details.
