The smartphone will come with the Helio P10 chipset, a 5.5-inch, full-HD display made by LG Electronics and 4GB of DDR3 RAM.
It is powered by 3 Ah battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The phone also has a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, and supports Quick Charge function along with all the Indian frequency bands of 2G, 3G and 4G LTE.
The phone will compete with devices like Redmi Note 3, Le 2 and Yu Yunicorn. While the Redmi Note 3 and Le 2 come with 3 GB of RAM and more powerful processors, the Yunicorn is almost exactly similar to the Auxus4X.
It is not clear whether the Auxus model comes with a fingerprint sensor like its competitors.
It does have inbuilt memory of 32GB along with an expandable memory slot upto 128GB and flaunts a unibody structure with a ‘rugged matte finish”.
From the looks of it, the only reason why the Auxus model could be in contention against the Yunicorn (or in fact the other models in the Rs 12,000 range) could be because of its display.
According to the Indian firm, the model has a “high color gamut Low Temperature Poly-silicon one-glass solution screen made by LG Electronics.”
Low Temperature Poly-silicon displays are considered to be the most expensive among LCD panels and generally support higher resolution and lower power consumption compared to other models such as amorphous silicon and IGZO.
“This Smartphone is targeted mainly at the Premium segment customers with its Unibody structure and FHD high color gamut LG display. Consumers can win a chance to avail freebies worth Rs10,000/-on the day of launch,” the company said.
“The Auxus4X is specially designed for the A class premium customers who value just the aesthetics status of the phone not bothering much about the cost,” said the company.
The product comes with one year warranty backed up by over 350+ Auxus authorised service centers across India.
