RCom to offer 3GB 4G/3G data at Rs 149

Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications Ltd is about to announce a deal under which it will offer 3GB of 4G or 3G data for Rs 149 as well as unlimited on-net calls.

It will also announce a competitor to others’ daily limit plans. Its unlimited daily plan will be applicable to 3G users as well.

The move comes weeks after it revealed a plan to offer unlimited calls to any number across India for Rs 149. However, the plan was restricted to only new subscribers.

The company has been struggling in recent months due to extreme competition from Reliance Jio, which is controlled by Mukesh Ambani, the elder brother of Anil Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Communications.

UPDATE: Please see the official announcement from RCom here.

Other operators such as Bharti Airtel and Idea Cellular also offer per-day schemes for 3G and 4G subscribers.

Unlike Jio, these companies offer only half a GB per day for regular use. Exact details of RCom’s offers will be clear later in the day when the company comes out with a statement on the same.
