Wipro announces ‘its largest win’ in a Rs 11,000 cr deal

IT outsourcing firm Wipro said it has won a $1.5-1.6 bln deal from US-based Alight Solutions LLC in what it called “Wipro’s largest win to date”.

The Bangalore-based company also announced that it has acquired Alight HR Services India Private Ltd, presumably the India unit of the same company.

Under the 10-year deal, Wipro will help overhaul the technology behind Alight’s solutions in the health, wealth, HR and finance verticals.

“This engagement will enable the digital transformation of Alight’s offerings across health, wealth, HR and finance solutions, and enhance the employee experience of Alight’s clients by leveraging Wipro’s industry-leading strengths in digital technologies, cognitive automation and data analytics,” the companies said.

The deal will generate $1.5 to $1.6 billion of revenue for Wipro.

Abidali Neemuchwala, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, Wipro Limited called the deal a testimony to the digital capabilities of his company.

“We will leverage this expertise to digitalize and modernize Alight’s core across platforms, technologies and operations.”
