airasia-sale-indiaAfter remaining rather low key in its first two years, AirAsia, the Malaysia-based budget airline and the pioneer of cost-efficient travel in Asia, is unleashing a wave of discounts and offers.

The new offers under its ‘Big Sale’ scheme — being offered at the second anniversary of the airline’s entry into India — include ticket prices starting at Rs 899, making it one of the cheapest in India’s aviation history.

Except for SpiceJet offering tickets at Rs 500 a few years ago, no other airline has sold tickets at these rates.

The Rs 899 fare is for short-haul flights, such as Bangalore to Kochi. On this route, a bus ticket costs Rs 1000 or more, while AirAsia is offering an airticket at Rs 899 including airport fees.:

A Bangalore to Vishakapatanam ticket costs Rs 1,599 while a ticket to New Delhi costs Rs 2,999.

The Big Sale also includes tickets to overseas destinations, mostly in South East Asia and Australia.

The cheapest international tickets are priced at Rs 3,399.

You can fly to Bangkok in Thailand from Kochi, Bangalore or Chennai at Rs 3,999.

The offer runs from June 13 to June 19 and bookings can be made for travel up to Jan 3 next year.
