Lenovo said it is now the No. 1 brand in online smartphone market in India, and the No. 2 brand among 4G handsets, possibly after Samsung.

Including both online and offline, Lenovo is No. 3 by value and No. 4 by number of devices sold.

Lenovo has sold 30 lakh K series phones over the last one year, the Chinese company said.

Lenovo said it believes that going forward, the industry is going to be more and more about virtual reality and less about smartphones.

Flipkart, Lenovo’s distribution partner, said it will take the percentage of smartphones delivered in one day to 70% in three months from 50% at present.

The online reseller said Lenovo is “by far” the most searched smartphone brand on its website.
