It will create a three by three lane twin tunnels of total length 3.44 km and highway with paved shoulders and viaducts for 7.2 Km.
The construction will take place Kashedi Ghat section of NH-66 (NH-17) between Raigad and Ratnagiri.
“This will significantly ease the commute of Mumbai – Goa and Mumbai – Bengaluru motorists from in Maharashtra,” the company said.
The company joined with tunneling expert CAI of Ukraine for the project.
Commissioned under National Highway Development Programme, the project is to be completed in 30 months. The Reliance JV will operate and maintain the project for a further 48 months.
Part of the Anil Ambani Group, Reliance Infrastructure undertakes construction as well as annuity projects in power, metro rail, nuclear power plant, air quality control, marine, railway, ports, and other infrastructure segments.
The company hopes to have Rs 50,000 cr worth of projects on its order book by the end of this financial year.
