Infosys, the Indian IT services company, has been roped in to make the Australian Open tennis tournament more engaging for the fans.

Infosys CEO Salil Parekh said the idea is to “change the way the Australian Open is watched, analysed and played”

Australian Open is one of the top five tennis tournaments in the world.

Financial details of the engagement were not disclosed.

The Bangalore-based company signed a three-year deal with Tennis Australia to use three emerging technologies — Big Data & Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Virtual & Augmented Reality — to “provide unique, innovative and engaging experiences for fans.”

The next Australian Open will take place in January, with ticket sales kicking off in October.
