Maruti Suzuki recalls 640 Super Carry vehicles to fix faulty fuel pump

Maruti Suzuki India Limited said it is recalling 640 units of its Super Carry small cargo vehicles manufactured between 20th Jan 2018 till 14th July 2018 to rectify a possible defect in fuel pump assembly.

Starting today, owners of the vehicles included in this recall campaign will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki dealers for inspection and replacement of the faulty part free of cost, the carmaker said.

Super Carry is Maruti Suzuki’s first attempt at broaching the commercial vehicle market.

“Customers of Super Carry are requested to visit the Company website and fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen to check if their vehicle needs any attention,” it added.

The chassis number, it pointed out, can be found on the vehicle ID plate and in the the invoice as well as registration documents.

Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest carmaker. It sold 2,038 Super Carry vehicles last month, more than double the 879 units sold in September last year.
