Larsen & Toubro said its power transmission & distribution business received additional orders of Rs 2,547 crore.

The period over which the orders were received were not disclosed, but the company typically updates investors of new orders every few weeks.

The orders include both international as well as Indian contracts. The value of the individual orders were not disclosed.

On the International front, the business has won a an order in Tanzania for the construction of a 220kV transmission line between Dar es Salaam and Morogoro which in turn will help electrification of a standard gauge railway line.

The business has received two other orders in northern region of Africa for substations from reputed customers, it said.

It also bagged an order in Thailand for the supply and construction of a 230kV Gas Insulated Substation that will cater to the Greater Bangkok area.

In India, the unit secured design and build orders for 132 kV substations and associated transmission lines in Jharkhand.

It also received orders for the construction of 220kV & 132kV Transmission Lines in West Bengal.

The company also received a mega battery storage system order Govt. of India company, it said.

The 20MW grid interactive solar photovoltaic project integrated with an 8 MWHr energy storage system is to be built in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

“Such large scale energy storage systems facilitate smooth grid integration of renewable generation which is intermittent in nature,” it said.

Separately, the Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet Limited has awarded an order to establish Optical Fiber Network Infrastructure in 4 districts, under the BharatNet Phase – II works.
