In the OS (Operating System) segment, android bagged more than 87% market share followed by 12% of IOS based Tablet PC. Further, Windows OS exhibited a substantial triple digit growth in 1Q 2014 over the previous quarter.

Wide acceptance of Phablets among the Indian consumers acts as a hurdle for the projected growth of India Tablet PC market. Further, delay in BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certifications have deferred the entry of foreign players halting the growth of India Tablet PC market.

Rising demand for mobility across the consumer electronics sector, primarily in the Education and Private enterprises have fuelled the growth of the India Tablet PC market. Affordable prices and growing need of customers for OS (Operating System) based devices are some of the other major factors which are contributing towards the growth of the India Tablet PC market.

Indian players especially across the IT sector are implementing BYOD (Bring-Your-Own-Device) policy. Further, government initiatives, multiple distribution points and emergence of new players are likely to drive growth of the local and international vendors in the India Tablet PC market.
